Hundreds of K-12 students are becoming "Community Actors" in schools across NYC.
People's Theatre Project's curriculum, designed around two of the Writing and Speaking Common Core Standards, is rigorous and demands a lot from students:
Self assessment, critical thinking, clarity, revision, editing, collaboration and creativity.
Our administrative and artistic staff works hard to support the goals of each of our partner schools.
Students work collaboratively with a People's Theatre Project artist to conceptualize, create and perform an original "theatrical collage". Through a series of hands on theatre-making projects, students investigate and explore issues affecting their community and gain the skills to become expressive and critically thinking global citizens.
