WHAT IS CIRCLE UP?
Circle Up is People's Theatre Project's theatre program inspired by health and wellness for children. In Circle Up, children engage in theatre games, improvisation and physical activities to learn about wellness for their body, mind, heart family, and community. The young actors work together to create and perform an original theatre piece for their families, friends and the community at the end of the program.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Children ages 6 - 12 are invited to register. No prior experience is necessary. Two groups of 15 children will be enrolled.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Participation in all People’s Theatre Project programs is free.
WHEN DOES THE PROGRAM MEET?
Rehearsals take place over the course of 13 Saturday mornings and culminates in December and May/June with a new production conceived, created and performed by the group. Additionally, participants in the spring program may be invited to be part of our year-end event “The People Storm the Palace” which takes place in June.
WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT?
Participants are expected to attend each rehearsal. Those children who miss more than 2 rehearsals may not be able to participate in the final performance. Families are encouraged to participate by volunteering time and talents at events, attending events and making a meaningful contribution in whatever way that works for your family. A parent or guardian is required to attend the program orientation on the first day of the program.
